Singapore (April 18, 2008) —The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Council, a global network of more than 3,000 senior marketing executives in 52 countries, today announced the expansion of its Asia-Pacific Advisory Board, reflecting the growth, diversity and dynamics of the Asia Pacific region. Fourteen new board members have been added from a variety of industry sectors including consumer electronics, wireless communications, fashion and apparel, media and entertainment, professional services, information technology and networking.
The CMO Council is bolstering its presence and activities in the Asia Pacific region with a number of new initiatives and knowledge exchange programs to help global members better understand and respond to changing market conditions in the geography. New data from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) points to a more challenging year for Asian economies with global slowdown and inflationary pressures likely to reduce forecasted growth from 7.4 percent in 2007 to a still robust 6.2 percent this year.
The following new advisory board members will join existing board members from companies like AT&T, Expedia.com, Infosys, Nortel, Philips Semiconductor, Salesforce.com, Symantec, Tektronix and VMware:
The board will convene at Microsoft's regional office in Singapore on April 18 to discuss APAC marketing issues, challenges, needs, themes and thought leadership platforms. Following the meeting, dinner will be hosted by Symantec at the Raffles Hotel Singapore.
